Telehealth Virtual Counseling

If you’re interested in video or phone sessions, our counselors are specifically trained in telehealth counseling and are able to meet you virtually. This option is great for college students who are away, those who travel frequently, or for those who don’t have a counselor nearby who specializes in your concern.

    ON THE BLOG: What to Expect During a Therapy Session >

    • Prior to your initial appointment, please fill out your new client forms at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Your forms will be emailed to you through your Client Portal once your appointment is confirmed.

    • For anyone under 18 years old, an initial parent appointment is required prior to meeting with your child or teen.

    ON THE BLOG: Therapy for My Child: What To Expect >

    • Please notify your provider at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to cancel or reschedule. Otherwise you will be charged the entire session fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you.

  • We're available for phone consult and telehealth sessions via video or phone for Georgia residents. Contact us to inquire about distance services.

  • Counseling sessions are 45-50 minutes.

  • We specialize in working with clients of diverse backgrounds and faith beliefs. If appropriate, many of our providers enjoy working with clients who wish to incorporate their faith into counseling. Email hello@atlwell.com if you have questions about faith-based counseling.

  • Generally we range from $60-170 for a 45-50 minute session. Fees are based on a provider’s education, experience, credentials, and licensure level. Limited number of reduced rate slots are available based on financial need.

    If finances are a factor for you, we offer both in person and telehealth counseling sessions at a significantly reduced rate if you prefer to work with one of our Counseling Interns. Our Counseling Interns are closely supervised by an in-house Clinical Supervisor, which means that you benefit from having multiple counselors whose time and expertise are applied to working with you. Counseling Interns are completing their Master’s degree and are up-to-date on the most relevant counseling theories and techniques.   • We are considered an out-of-network provider with most insurance plans.* We do not take insurance, however, we can provide you with a Superbill for you to file with your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement, if applicable.

    *Amanda Shyer, Ashley Dressel, Lyzz Neal, Hannah Jordan, and Dr. Thaxton are in-network and accepting new clients with Cigna/Evernorth.

    We are able to take Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flex Spending Accounts (FSA). We can work with you to determine what will work best for you. Many of our providers can also offer a reduced rate based on financial need. Contact our office for more information.
