Get to Know Mary London Goshert

How did I get into this career?

I truly believe that every step of my journey—no matter how unexpected—has been leading me to where I am today as a counselor. From studying journalism and learning how to hold space for people’s stories, to spending a few years abroad empowering women and children in another culture, to working in the hospitality industry for the past decade—each experience has felt purposeful and intentional. Counseling was always in the back of my mind, a quiet calling, but it took time, growth, and a full career in marketing to finally arrive here. And now, I wholeheartedly believe I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, at exactly the right time.

What is my favorite thing about counseling?

I never take for granted how much courage it takes to come to counseling. It’s an incredible honor to sit with someone and be a calm, welcoming, and steady presence in their journey. While I know I can’t fix everything, the opportunity to bear witness to someone’s pain, to walk alongside them in their suffering, and to offer hope when things feel hopeless—that’s what I cherish most about this work.

What do I like to do when I'm not at Atlanta Wellness Collective?

When I’m not at Atlanta Wellness Collective, you’ll likely find me soaking up the outdoors, taking walks with my daughter to Bellwood Coffee (the Ezra is a must-try!), grabbing our usual table at Taqueria del Sol, planning weekend getaways to visit loved ones in other cities, and lingering a little too long around dinner tables with good company.

What do I hope for my clients?

I hope to build a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship where we work together to support your journey toward becoming the most whole and authentic version of yourself. My hope is that, through our work, you cultivate deeper self-awareness, greater self-compassion, and a sense of clarity and organization—so that life feels less overwhelming, and you’re reminded that you don’t have to navigate it alone.
