Get to Know Alex Kelley
How did I get into this career?
I actually started college as a nursing major but quickly found myself drawn to psychology and made the switch. I was fascinated by how the mind works and how our experiences shape who we are. After graduating, I worked in sales, which was a great opportunity that taught me a lot about communication, resilience, and understanding people. Still, I found myself craving a deeper sense of purpose in my work. That desire led me to pursue graduate school and fully step into the field of counseling. My own personal experiences also deepened my interest in psychology and continue to shape the way I show up in this work.
What is my favorite thing about counseling?
What I love most about counseling is getting to learn about people and be part of their stories. Every individual carries something unique—experiences, perspectives, and inner worlds—and I find it such a privilege to share space with someone as they open up and explore those parts of themselves. Being invited into that process is incredibly meaningful to me.
What do I like to do when I'm not at Atlanta Wellness Collective?
Outside of work, you can usually find me working through my ever-growing list of hobbies—currently, it’s pottery, Pilates, and binge-watching Ted Lasso with my husband, Jared. I love anything that helps me recharge, be creative, or just laugh really hard.
What do I hope for my clients?
I hope my clients feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout our work together. I want them to experience growth and healing in a way that feels authentic to them—and to know that they don’t have to go through it alone. More than anything, I hope they walk away with a stronger sense of who they are and what’s possible for them.
