Dr. Nicole Thaxton is the founder of Atlanta Wellness Collective and a respected leader in the field of counseling, clinical supervision, and counselor education. As a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS), she is deeply committed to shaping the next generation of ethical, effective mental health professionals. At Atlanta Wellness Collective, Dr. Nicole provides clinical supervision for licensure, professional consultation, and oversight to clinicians and supervisors at various stages in their development. She also mentors counseling supervisors across the U.S.

With over a decade of experience in private practice, Dr. Nicole has counseled high-achieving entrepreneurs, teens and students, educators, parents, and professionals. Her work has focused largely on anxiety, perfectionism, parenting, grief and loss, and generational trauma.

A passionate educator, Dr. Nicole is a frequent keynote speaker and continuing education presenter on topics including clinical supervision, ethics, high-functioning anxiety, and leadership. She partners with The Knowledge Tree to teach Georgia’s required 30-hour CPCS certification course, equipping aspiring clinical supervisors both locally and nationwide.

Beyond the realm of counseling, her voice has been featured on podcasts and stages across the country, where she speaks to diverse audiences—from mental health professionals and business leaders to educators, churches, and parent groups. Recognized as a thought leader on workplace mental health, Dr. Nicole speaks to organizations, conferences, and leadership teams seeking to build emotionally healthy, resilient, and high performing workplace cultures. Her online blog and email newsletter, The Anxious Achievers Club, provide helpful tools and encouragement to thousands of weekly readers. Dr. Nicole’s debut book on generational anxiety, Invisible Inheritance: A Guide To Healing Anxiety Across Generations, is available now.

Dr. Nicole holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Mercer University, a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University (with certificates in Trauma and Child & Adolescent Counseling), and a BS in Psychology from the University of Georgia. She is a proud third-generation Atlanta native, wife to RJ, and girl mom.
